Tuesday, 31 January 1865

A perfect lovely day. But ill begun ― XX.

Rose later ― & worked off & on, ill enough all day ― at a few more small drawings.

At 4 ― went up with G. to the Villa Sassernõ, taking a drawing for Thomson Hankey, who has really been very amiable. Mrs. Leycester of Toft, was at Mrs. Bathurst’s.

Returned, & called on Mrs. Smith-Barry: no news of the Widdingtons yet.

Dined at 6.30. Penned out till only 9.

Sleepy ― & bed.

Higgins sent 20£.
