Same perfect lovely weather ― only I see it but by fits.

Worked hard ― rising at 6.50. ― till 4.30.

Finished (so to speak,) all the 25 Palestinian drawings ―, & gummed them to their mounts ― remain only the outer lines to be ruled.

(Letter from young Νικόλα, ― they are all well ― but no news of Spiro ― queer man.)

At 3 came a letter from Thomson Hankey ― saying that Lady Fitzwilliam wished to see my drawings.

So I wrote a note &, at 5 took it up there. Living at Nice in such a house as the Chateau Laurent ― & at 61. Promenade des Anglais are different matters davvèro.[1]

Essayed to go up to Lady Duncan’s ― but it was too late.

Dined at 6.30. & penned out ἔπειτα till 10.30.

Vell! if this ain’t vorkin for nuffin ― vot is? ―

[1] Completely.
