Thursday, 10 November 1864

Slep perpetual. Rose at 7. Cafè ― & then, at 8, came to my new lodgings ― 61. Promenade des Anglais ― George following with all the baggage. All the morning went in unpacking, & in going over the Inventory of the things, with Mdme. Canepa. ― a horrid bore. At 1.30 ― walked to Carabacel, & lunched with Anna Duncan. Afterwards to Post, & dawdled ― & returned, & made out a list of the 68 Mounted Sheets of drawings.

at 6 ― dined at the Hotel du Nord, & came back, ― sitting up till 10, making lists of all my sketches here.

The day has been throughout calm & gray ― but now threatening rain.
