Most lovely sunrise!  Rose at 6 ― & walked from 6.30 to 7.20. Breakfast with W.L. ― Miss ― & Miss F.L.

At 7.45 in a Cart to rail ― W.L. diving ― a very delightful drive. Rail to London & cab to Stratford Place by 10. ― Found letters from G. Cocali ― Mr. Edwards & others.

The hanging of the back room was finished by 12 or 1. & I wrote to Taylor, George Kokali, Cholmondeley, F.L. Mrs. AT ― &c., but it is too late to begin to paint.

So I went out, ― what a bitter cold east wind! ― & called on Sir Paul & Lady Hunter ― & after that on the S. Bethells & poor Emma Parkyns. ―― Ehi! ―

Then I walked to Foord’s & back ― by 7. ― cold!

Walked to 1. Montague □.
