Julian Goldsmid.
Frank Lushington
Walter Evans
Mrs. Chetwode
Mrs. Weather.

These were the visitors ― & meanwhile I began to work in the new Upstair’s study, wh. is light & quiet. Completed the penning out of the 30th lot, & began to colour some. ― At 4 ― calls on Mrs. Maguire, Lady De Tabley, Sir H. Holland, Mrs. Warren. Then to the Simpson drawings (meeting Sir H.J. Storks,) ― & to the New, & the old W. Color exhibition, & the R. Academy. In the first some of Vachers were good, ― but all nearly alike as to effect. In the 2nd ― Carl Haags, Birkett Foster, & the late Hunt. In the academy, Hook & Lewis were all I cared for. Saw Lord & Lady Wenlock there & “Caroline.”

Vastly pretty & pleasant party. Mrs. G.C. in a dark blue dress looked amazing & lovely.
