Rose, (nevertheless) at 6. Rain ― but clear at 8. ――

T. Cooper somewhat better: but these good people are overworked & hardly ground down. ― Finished all the Cephalonia sketches by 2 P.M. & after Lunch, went out ― meeting G. Strahan & walking with him. Bickers & Bush, Jones, ― (& met G.S. again ―) Carter’s ― Norths. Looked at Victoria St. flats ― 4th floor ― £120 ― say £100 a year ― 10 rooms ― No. 91. Very nice, but too high. ― Cab home & out again ― hair cut. ―

At 7.30 ― to 6 Whitehall Gardens

Very quiet & pleasant: & so was the evening ―when I sang somewhat. Home by 11.15.
