Gray all day ― warm ― & showers before 12.

Unwell. Distressed as to present & future ― but not as to the past.

Worked at the Argostoli picture ― the plain distance, & the near olive & squills.

Roberts (Dr.) called ― a hearty good fellow. ― And later ― Wade-Browne, & then Bailey (John.)

With whom two I walked to “one gun” ― better thus than in doors ever ― returning home by 6.30.

Ἐγευμάτισα μοναχῶς. Καὶ ― ἔπειτα[1] penned out till 10.45 ― finishing all the Cephalonia drawings ― except 2.

Hard work ― but better than to be idle. Meanwhile ― I half resolve to pack & go ― άλλὰ ποῦ;[2]

The playing of my consular neighbouresses is delightful.

[1] Dined alone. And ― then.

[2] But where? (NB).
