Quite fine all day, ― lovely once more[.]

Better, but “far from” well.

Worked pretty hard all day at Lawson’s little oil picture of Akhrida ― & pretty successfully.

At 5.30. good-natured De Vere came & sate an hour.

Did not go out ― & ate as little as possible.

Penned out till 9.30. Assos sketch.

A letter from Capt. Murray of Paxô ― poor Murray. He won’t have one of my books unless he pays for it. So I must send him an odd plate of Paxô.
