Thursday, 3 September 1863

Rose late ― 7. but worked all day ― nearly finishing No. 7 ― & commencing No. 6. in order to try it by gaslight.

Saw no one.

Went nowhere.

Dined at 6.30 ― & afterwards, tried to work by Gaslight ― ἀλλὰ ― δὲν ίμποροῦσα νὰ κάμω τίποτε.[1]

Even now I can’t tell if this Lithographic work will do ― or not.

X2

[1] But ― I couldn’t do anything (NB).
