Rose ― hardly before 8 ―――― !! ― !! ―

Alas! ――――

Breakfast. ― Letters from Ellen, H. Farquhar, Mr. & Mrs. Prescott, “Emmy Penrhyn” ― & Mrs. T. Fairbairn.

Worked a good deal ― but only in penning out, ― Ithaca drawings. ―

At 6.40. dined at the Queen’s Hotel ― expensively ― wh. is a bore.

The time & money are spent without any “interest” ― for I am doing nothing.

Walked from 8.30. to 9.30. ― on the Parade ―: but “we come no more to that golden shore.”
