Quite absolute clear & lovely again all day!! ―

Worked at Lawson’s Butrinto & Gastouri ― & at Ridleys Olympus. Major & pretty Mrs. Dashing came ― & Miss Cooper: all these nice people.

Worked till 6 ― intending to go & see little Mary De Vere ― but after washing brushes & dressing ― it was too late.

Dined with the Dunn Gardners. Odd ― but interesting people, both: & I seldom saw 2 people so utterly different, yet getting on so well. She all matronly, ― English, ― Cambridge ― anti Greek & Classial ― anti travel. He, altogether Odyssean & Turkish ― topographic ― restles ― & queery in some respects. ―

Passed a pleasant evening ― for there was no gossip nor twaddle nor ill-nature.

Moreover, αὐτὸς μ’  ἐπλὲρωσε δέκα λίρας. ―[1]

Home ― beautiful full moon ― by 10.30 ―. ―

[1] He paid me ten pounds (NB).
