Painted at the Olympus ― my sight being bad & not up to completing the birds & small detail of the Beachy Hd. ―― pretty well all day ― but cold & with Asthma.
Wrote to Mrs. Clive, Mrs. Prescott & Mrs. [sic]
And later to F. Css. Waldegrave ― declining Dudbrook & Chantilly: & to C.F. also.
At 4 or 5 ― sate with Bright Smith who gets somewhat better. ―
Dined at home ― cold beef & rice at 6. ―
The brute Gush now sees that the Coopers have to light
2 fires in his studio’s ―
1 ― in B. Smiths
1. in mine
1. in the new lodgers ―
5 ― in all ― yet lets them do it ― knowing that at present they cannot turn out & get a new place. ―
But ― παύσετε τό [two illegible words]. ―――
