  1. For those who miss an entry for today, I compose a fake one:

    Not well.

Misty dawn and rain most of the morning — letter from Lady C. with acct of Lord Carlingford’s activities in Douth. In the evening — Homer for two hours — D. L. not coming to dine, usual complaints — απογοητευμένος.

[oval drawing of table, large L where Lear sat, and the following: M. S., T. R., G. N., Mr. Baynes.]

    I sang a little, T. R. played badly.
