Gray: no rain all day!!!!! ― & 2 or 3 half-misty sungleams[.]

An odious day. Rose at 8.

Foord’s sent & put in the glass in Miss Goldsmid’s Corfû. ― I could not work ― but did Homer till 3. Then worked ― & better than usual, at the 2nd Corfû. ― At 5 ― walked to Mrs. Story’s ― & saw the 2 boys: back by 7.

In a cab to Cromwell Place ― what a crush of carriages & cabs in the Exhibition road!

The dinner at C. Norman’s was very praiseworthy: both of them I like very much: & the tout-ensemble was tasteful & good. Οὒτως ἣτον τὸγεῦμα[1]

Walked partly home ― cab the rest, by 11.30. ―

[1] Dinner was as follows (NB).
