Thursday, 5 June 1862

Took medicine ― being all rolly-polly with ship & rail movement. Went at 10 to the Hunts ― Bern out. ― Long talks with Jane H.H.: the Sharpe quarrel & other matters. Bernard returned at 3 ―― in good health & the same as ever.

Wet day all through till 5 ― when Jane H.H. Margaret Watherstone & I walked out a little.

They had to go out & dine to meet the Bishop ― Margaret & I dined alone ― & passed the evening very pleasantly.
