Day fine & warm ― but thick & scirocco ― all day.

Marrettimo at 5 or 6 ˇ[4 or 5] ―. Coast of Sicily fades[.]

Read Guinevere to Jones & Thompson: ― Major Webber-Smith & others ― all nice fellows. ― The Ives Wright party vulgar. a’ Piano. ― Crowded ship ― but well arranged & good service & food.

I could not sleep below but lay on a sofa in the salon.
