Same weather ― not quite so hot perhaps. ― ―

Rose better but did not continue so. Worked all day ― except from 8 to 8½ ― 11 to 11½ ― & 5 to 5¾ beginning at 7 ― & leaving off at 7½. Got on very much with the Petra ― but at noon ― nearly dead with indigestion ― & X9 ―.

Cold mutton & butter pudding ― 1 pint of beer.

Walked out at 8 ― & returned by 9½. Very sad exile life & lonely.

Petra 4.
Foreground.
