Slept better; rose at 6½ ― & read some Οιθίπος.

Letter ― kindly ― from T. Baring. Breakfast. ― Calmness of these diggings. Blk trunk came at 11. Got room in order & worked at Potter’s Athos till 4½. Then bathed. Gray calm day. ― Dinner ― & paper ― Letter from [Glennie]. Read, after working ¾ of an hour again. Before 8 posted 2 letters (Foord & Roberson) & took a long walk ― confused & dim ― & was at home after 9.
