Rose unwell ― but not so ill as I had thought to be. ― Newbolt came, to whom I paid 3£ ― (14 sc.) for a painting. Then came Mr. Sampayo & other people from 12 to 1½. ― I worked at one drawing of Mrs. Empson’s pretty well all day ― & in some respects felt better than yesterday. At 4 I walked to St. J. Lateran & back. The weather is mild now ― & always fine. Dined alone ― & S.W.C. came & sat till 10.
